5. A Very Entertaining Tag Title Match To Open The Show
WWE.comIt's something that has always been very important to the success of WWE PPVs: a strong opening match goes a long way to set the tone for a show. If you have an opener that sucks then it makes fans wonder why they're even watching it. When it's really good then it makes you happy that you spent the time (and money) to check out the show. The Usos had another exciting match with Luke Harper & Erick Rowan. A big reason why it worked was because the finish wasn't obvious. The Usos title run has lasted over three months and once you get past that point the fans start to believe that you might lose the gold. That's why there were loud reactions for Harper's incredible moves and even a "this is awesome" chant ten minutes into this regular tag match. The placement of the match was important too. If you put this match on after a ladder match then there's a chance the crowd doesn't care because they would have already seen guys falling off ladders. Doing it before them was smart.
