6. Mahal Was Painted As A Hero For Entering The Punjabi Prison Alone

If you're wondering why WWE lingered on Jinder Mahal entering the Punjabi Prison, it may have something to do with the story being told to Indian fans. Entering the structure without The Singh Brothers, Jinder stood with his WWE Title and waited on Randy Orton to join him. In the words of his countrymen, this was brave.

Yes, not bringing The Singh Brothers in to help him decimate Orton from the get-go was considered a show of bravery from Jinder. Things didn't stop there though, because even the supposed advantage Mahal held by choosing 'his' own match type (something Cole, JBL and Saxton harped on about) was debunked by the Hindi squad.

Instead, it was claimed that Jinder held no clear advantage and was in fact heroic for agreeing to represent his nation against someone as dangerous as Randy Orton. The tale being spun that Mahal had no backup is of course false, but it was the Indian focus.
