The Punjabi Prison's rules dictated that competitors could call for 1 of 4 doors to be opened for 60 seconds. Should they fail to leave in that time, then the door would be closed for good, limiting the chances of escaping the inner cage. No prizes for guessing how many doors Mahal and Orton used at Battleground.

On regular commentary, Randy was said to be smart for trying to leave the ring and escape the first hurdle. At the same time this was being spouted in English, the Hindi announcers outright called Orton a coward who was trying to get away from the fight due to fear of the noble Jinder Mahal. Orton was also slated for standing in Jinder's way when the champ tried to escape.

In other words, Randy couldn't win in the eyes of the Indian commentators. If he tried to leave the inner cage, then he was running away. If he stopped Jinder from effectively doing the exact same thing, then he was a heel for standing in such a proud champion's way.
