Prior to the match itself, Terri Runnels interviewed Shawn Michaels backstage and asked him why he thought he could win. The Heartbreak Kid began to answer, but his attempts to explain were interrupted by a little white noise and television static. The announcers groaned and lamented the interrupting, as I wracked my brain to try and remember what the RNN was.

After making his debut on WWE TV as the most vanilla pro wrestler in the history of time and space, Randy Orton was forced to miss months of action due to an injured shoulder. WWE saw something in the third generation star, and kept him on TV with these largely forgettable segments.
By ‘largely’ I obviously mean ‘completely’, as Randy Orton offered absolutely nothing of worth before the broadcast returned to the match at hand. The Viper has been a fixture on WWE TV as a top star for well over a decade now, and it is extremely jarring to see him in segments such as this.
