8 Time-Bending Wrestling Facts That Will Melt Your Brain
2. AEW Dynamite Has Had More Episodes Than WCW Nitro
AEW Dynamite is still thought of by fans as a relatively new show, even though it debuted back in 2019. All Elite Wrestling itself is often considered an "upstart" company. As their main competition is gearing up for the 42nd edition of WrestleMania, that's a fairly understandable stance for people to take.
Compare this to WCW Nitro. The Monday Night Wars in their entirety, WCW's 83-week streak of beating Raw in the ratings, and a million conversations surrounding "who is responsible for the death of WCW?" all center around the years that Nitro was a permanent fixture on the pro wrestling calendar. It's approaching 25 years since Nitro's last broadcast, and yet there is a far more outrageous stat when it comes to WWE's main competitor.
There have now been more episodes of AEW Dynamite than there have been of WCW Nitro. Maybe it's the sheer volume of crazy incidents and storylines that happened across the years that Nitro was on the air, but it still feels bananas that Dynamite has had a longer run than the most popular show in WCW history. The rollout of Glacier feels like it had a longer run than Dynamite, but you can't argue with the facts.
