8 Times Disrespected Wrestlers Went Nuts On Reporters
4. Big Show Goes Nuts On Andrew Green For Doing His Job
After The Big Show's loss to Alberto Del Rio at the Royal Rumble in 2013, road producer Andrew Green was charged with filming an interview with the giant, who was in absolutely no mood for that business. Show forces Green against a storage crate, slaps him in the face and cusses him out before storming off.
So far, so worked, right? Well, it turns out that, though the interview itself was planned, the violence and the intensity of Big Show's performance wasn't, and Green complained about suffering a traumatic event, to the point of quitting over distress caused.
He then brought a lawsuit against the WWE for failing to properly supervise The Big Show and for airing the interview, regardless of how emotionally damaging such an act would be for Green. He heaped upon the WWE the charges ofnegligence, invasion of privacy, infliction of emotional distress, commercial appropriation of his likeness, unjust enrichment, as well as negligent hiring and retention and supervision.
His wife also sought a claim based on 'loss of consortium', i.e. the loss of her husbands services at home. You can fill in for yourself what that means.
Even in the tightly controlled environment of the backstage TV segment, for some the violence of wrestling can turn too real, too quickly.
