The plan to get Roman Reigns cheered at WrestleMania 32, by putting him up against the heel of all heels, looked solid on paper. They even had him lose the Royal Rumble a couple of months earlier to help rid us of the notion that he was an unstoppable superman.

But they also completely telegraphed the match's outcome. The Game was semi-retired at this point, called into action at the last minute after the likes of Seth Rollins and Randy Orton went down injured. We knew that he wasn't hanging onto the WWE Title any longer than completely necessary.

The storyline, which saw Roman take on The Authority, felt like a tired rehash of Stone Cold's rise to super-stardom 20 years earlier - and though the bad guy here was every bit as lamentable as Vince, his adversary was anything but anti-establishment.

On the night, it wasn't pretty. Though The Big Dog got a surprisingly mixed reaction at the final bell, most of his moves during the match itself were greeted with boos from the Arlington crowd. They just weren't buying it (and that's a problem when you are buying it).
