8 Times The Rock Proved He CAN Cut A Bad Promo

6. The Rock Loves Fruity Pebbles, Twitter, Stupid Chants

For what felt like the umpteenth time, The Rock came out in front of the crowd to defend himself against accusations that, since he was no longer a regular on the roster, he wasn't allowed to act like he loved the WWE more than anything else in the world. Depending on who you ask, that's actually a pretty apt assertion.

But even if Dwayne Johnson felt it was unfair for the fans - or, in this case, John Cena - to call him out for his sporadic involvement with the company, it's a bit inexcusable to spend 20 minutes rambling about how great of an entertainer he is, and how much the crowd eats every word up with a spoon.

And then there are the callbacks. So, so many callbacks. It was Trending this and Fruity Pebbles that, with The Rock patting himself on the back so hard it'd be surprising if he didn't have to make an emergency trip to his chiropractor later that night. It reeked of desperation, and even though the crowd was into it, it was hard not to view this as the curtain call on original Rock promos.

To be fair, some people genuinely loved this promo. And give him credit for the way he could still involve a live crowd like no one else. But let's face it, that likely had more to do with how much they hate John Cena than how much they loved The Rock that night.
