8 Times UFC President Dana White Lost His Damn Mind
6. His Infamous Ultimate Fighter Speech
The Ultimate Fighter debuted in 2005 to a surprising level of fanfare and became a great vehicle for building stars in MMA. Despite Stephan Bonnar and Forrest Griffin being ostensibly the stars of the first season, the real star was Dana White himself.
The show demonstrated Dana's fiery personality and determination to see fighters reach their full potential. By the time the programme first reached the air, White had already spent several years consisting of battles both in the courts, and the media, to reiterate the legitimacy of the sport of MMA.
As a result of this, he took a no-nonsense approach when it came to dealing with prospective fighters who through their actions risked putting it into disrepute.
The very first season saw the contestants venture into the unknown by moving into the fighter's house and living communally. When they found out that they would be expected to fight one another through the course of the show without being paid, the fighters looked set to go on mutiny. White would step in to save the day by producing one of the most memorable speeches in MMA history.
