8 Times Wrestlers Were Rejected In Their Hometowns
5. Hulk Hogan (WrestleMania 37)
'The Hulkster' may have actually been born in Augusta, Georgia back in 1953, but Hulk Hogan moved to Port Tampa, Florida with his family a year-and-a-half after he was born and has been calling Tampa home ever since.
Which means that when WrestleMania 37 eventually came to town all those years later, 'The Immortal' Hogan was actually going to be appearing in front of a hometown crowd on 'The Grandest Stage of Them All.'
But rather than being given a warm welcome from the first live-fan crowd WWE had had since the pandemic began, the Tampa natives and majority of the other souls inside of Raymond James Stadium understandably weren't exactly overjoyed to see the controversial legend.
In the wake of Hogan's racist comments that were discovered on tape back in 2015, it's safe to say fans have consistently gone out of their way to let him know that they didn't think his eventual attempt at an apology (claiming he didn't know he was being recorded) was up to scratch.
And having Hogan strut out alongside fellow host and actual hometown hero Titus O'Neil on the nights only highlighted just how rejected Hogan was on the evening, with every Hulk word being met by a jeer and every Titus sentence being given audible approval.
