8 Times Wrestlers Were Rejected In Their Hometowns
4. Bobby Fish (Impact Wrestling, October 2022)
Not only were the lies nowhere to be seen on the night of October 13, 2022, but any sort of support for a hometown lad was also entirely absent on IMPACT, too.
After a promo train involving Impact World Champion Josh Alexander, Bully Ray, Steve Maclin, and Moose had already gone on for a whopping 15-minutes, the Albany, New York crowd watching on were already pretty tired of all the talking.
And the arrival of their own Albany boy Bobby Fish did absolutely nothing to perk them up either.
On the back of a rather negative reception to the one-time Undisputed Era member's in-ring debut at Bound for Glory 2022, Fish proceeded to add to his rather awkward collection of Impact moments.
To the sound of dead silence, Fish went looking for lies and even asked those watching on to tell him where they all were. Their response? One solitary shout of "CM Punk!" Magical.
In all fairness, Fish did at least get the smallest of pops after eventually reminding those watching on that he was in his hometown of Albany. But before that, it honesty felt as though the former AEW wrestler had walked into a library and began cutting a promo on the non-fiction section.
Simply put, Albany weren't impressed. Where's the lie?
