8 Times WWE Hit The 'Reset' Button
3. Raw Super Show
By some minor miracle, the original brand extension endured for almost a full decade; compare this with the current version of the concept, which began in 2016 and was made effectively irrelevant in February 2018 with the reintroduction of dual branded PPVs.
By April 2012, over ten years in and with draft lotteries having devolved from a tantalising spectacle to a literal trading of places, the concept was on its last legs. As the company geared towards their network-mandated three hour format that summer, it was clear that a stretched roster already struggling to support monthly supershows - the post-Invasion bounty had gradually dried up - wouldn't be able to do it every week with only half the personnel.
Thus started the Raw Supershow, which would allow superstars from SmackDown to migrate to Raw, so as to - according to Triple H - give fans the best product each week (the same spiel was used in February 2018). The brand split, effectively, was dead.
