Oh you didn't know? Yes that's right, the New Age Outlaws weren't always spouting off catchphrases and crotch-chopping in harmony. Oh no, The Roadie and Rockabilly clashed heads on several inclusions.

The two men started to drift apart in early 1999, after a very successful 1998 where they were probably WWE's premier tag team (and sold a boatload of merchandise, to boot). Each began to desire singles success, with both men vying for the Hardcore and Intercontinental Championships.

On the March 22, 1999 episode of Raw, Gunn and Dogg squared off with Billy's newly-won Hardcore Title and Road Dogg's IC belt both on the line. The two had a friendly enough match which ended after about four minutes when Al Snow, Val Venis and Goldust ran in, to help build towards the Outlaws' individual matches at WrestleMania XV in six days time.

Following 'Mania, the Outlaws began to team again, looking to capture the Tag Team Titles. They face off with Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett at Backlash and won, becoming No.1 contenders. A week later, however, Gunn heel on his partner. This set up a mini feud and match at the ill-fated Over the Edge, which was won by Gunn.

It was obvious as 1999 progressed that WWE saw Gunn as a singles star and potential future WWE Champion (seriously) and began pushing him as such. Indeed, just one month after Over the Edge, Mr. A** won the King of the Ring and, one month after that, faced The Rock at SummerSlam.

The New Age Outlaws would reunite a bunch more times in the future and even repeated their WWE feud in TNA in 2008.
