8 TNA Impact Gimmick Changes That Lengthened Careers

5. Decay

This was a two-for-one saving grace, as Decay gave a sinister edge to the incredibly goofy Crazzy Steve and reinvigorated Abyss as both a promo guy and a monster worth taking seriously.

Steve wasn't just some horn-blowing irritant anymore: he was a manic sinister foil to Rosemary's patently unhinged muse. Abyss wasn't just the big guy who ripped off Kane and Mankind whilst face-planting into thumbtacks on a weekly basis; he was a singularly destructive and intimidating force once more.

Unified and made better by the consistently great mic work and ring work of Rosemary, from day one Decay wasn't just a new coat of paint on utility players. It was a late-stage stylistic overhaul that virtually every wrestling company should envy.
