8 UFC Fighters That Went To War With Dana White

3. Oscar De La Hoya (39-6)

The case of Oscar De La Hoya proves that you don't need to be employed by the UFC, or even be an MMA fighter, to find yourself in a feud with Dana White.

So how, I hear you asking, does a boxer that retired in 2008 become one of Dana White's sworn enemies?

Well after his career in the ring came to an end, De La Hoya became one of the most prominent promoters in the sport of boxing as the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions.

De La Hoya would put himself on a collision course with Dana after he stated in 2018 that the UFC did not treat their fighters well and announced that Golden Boy Promotions would be venturing into MMA, promoting a trilogy fight between Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell.

In an interview with Sirius FM, White stated that the two had been friends prior to the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather superfight, but their relationship had soured since De La Hoya's move into MMA:

"Anybody who wants to try and get into MMA good luck to you. But then he says ‘we’re going to treat the athletes the way they should be treated – the UFC doesn’t ... I mean I could just go on for days and days about what an absolute douche this guy is. ... The new Oscar De La Hoya is a scumbag, a liar and a complete moron. So that’s where Oscar De La Hoya and I are.”
