8 UFC Records That Will Be Broken (And 8 That Won't)
1. WILL - Most Consecutive Wins
Record: Anderson Silva - 16
Next Best: TIED - Jon Jones, Demetrious Johnson, Georges St-Pierre and Max Holloway - 13
Anderson Silva is of course one of the greatest middleweights of all time, if not one of the greatest fighters of all time. The Spider laid waste to his division as top champion for ten successful title defences. That's only a portion of his incredible 16-fight win streak.
The Brazilian also moved up and fought at Light Heavyweight on three occasions during his reign as champion... of a different division. His streak famously ended at the hands of Chris Weidman at UFC 162, but his record was already planted in the history books.
But for how long?
Jon Jones and Max Holloway, sitting in the next best column, both lost their 13-fight streaks in recent years, most controversially being Jones who had his win overturned.
You need to look past those at the 13 mark and poke a stick at Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov, who have the highest active win streaks as of writing, with 12 each.
One of them won't have that streak when the two finally face off in 2020. As two of the greatest the division has ever seen, one would have to think that whoever wins that fight is in the best position to move upward and past Silva in the near future.
Kamaru Usman shouldn't be discounted either, with 11 straight wins right now, but would need six consecutive title defences to take the record for his own, if it's not already taken by then.
