8 Uncool Heels That WWE Fans Surprisingly Loved

6. 3MB

It's hard to explain why fans rallied behind 3MB. Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal had received mostly apathy from the crowd since their debuts. Mahal had the misfortune of working with the Great Khali which would have stunted anyone on their debut. Drew McIntyre was booed throughout his 2009-2010 run because he was pushed too fast because of his association with Triple H and Sheamus. To be fair, back then he did have the personality of a dead fish. The wannabe rock band gimmick didn't exactly scream heat-seeker either. The first time they acted like heelish bullies was when they ganged up on the Spannish Announce Team (gasp!). This team was meant for the bottom of the card and that's where they stayed, until Drew and Jinder were released earlier this year. And yet fans dug it. Even before the backlash that greeted the teams split, these jobbers were getting cheers, chants, signs in the crowd, the works! Maybe it was because the team embraced the fact they were losers. Maybe it was seeing Drew back on TV after he had disappeared for nearly a year. Maybe it was seeing Jinder actually displaying charisma. Who knows? Or maybe it was just that incredibly catchy theme song!

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
