8 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (10 Nov)

1. A Wonky Squash

Wardlow AEW
AEW

There was some neat stuff in Wardlow vs. Wheeler Yuta. Wardlow playing to the ground with repeated powerbombs is smart, given that he's going to be the babyface in the MJF feud someday, and that he completely ate Yuta alive after an attempted hot start from the Best Friend makes for an effective layout in theory, but this was more YouTube than TNT and was hindered by a couple of unfortunate botches.

If Yuta's early slip (which Jim Ross attributed to his footwear) didn't take you out of it, it's likely that the finish did. Yuta flopped down coming off the top rope, meaning Wardlow's intended knockout knee landed somewhere on his torso, undermining its impact. Nobody was hurt, which is the main thing, but it didn't look good nonetheless.

Whether or not a botch matters runs parallel with whether or not it had a detrimental impact on the bout's quality. Here, it did.
