8 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (10 Nov)

4. A Pig In Sh*t

Dan Lambert

Last night's Inner Circle/American Top Team was hotter than the surface of the sun, which goes to show that the storyline doesn't need homophobic jokes or misogynistic language to be over. Why, exactly, its protagonists spent so long wallowing in sub-Attitude Era muck before this point is a mystery, but we arrived at this go-home angle - and it was great.

ATT and the Men of the Year interrupted Chris Jericho's Judas love-in to wipe The Inner Circle out on their way to the ring. Beaten down with kendo sticks and thrown into the ring steps, the payoff was Dan Lambert rolling around like a pig in his own sh*t, luxuriating in getting one over on Jericho and co. in the most obnoxious way.

The MOTY put Jericho on Lambert's shoulders so that ATT's gloating leader could powerbomb him through a table. Moments later, Dan had the 51-year-old in his own submission, the Walls of Jericho, compounding the humiliating.

The payoff to this storyline is Lambert's comeuppance. He's going to eat a big bowl of signature moves to big pops from the Full Gear crowd, eating some well-deserved sh*t at the end of the storyline. It's just a shame that so much of the road to that point was regressive rubbish.
