8 Ups & 1 Down From Impact Wrestling (Jul 7)

A night full of teases, high production levels, and outstanding wrestling.

With Slammiversary now sitting at one week away, this week's episode of Impact Wrestling sure did an excellent job in making fans even more excited for the 18 July pay-per-view than they already were. All of the major contests at the event were on full showcase here, and, as expected, there was another tease at the conclusion of the show.

That tease focused around the former World Champion who has been confirmed as returning to the company at Impact's annual summer event. A further video was posted that showed that former champ won't be returning alone, but rather will have at least one more name coming to the company as well. It's not been confirmed whether this returning/debuting star will be coming in as an associate to the former World Champion or doing their own thing, but it's certainly another tantalising idea to think of as we approach 18 July.

In terms of the in-ring action on the show, Sami Callihan and Josh Alexander had a delightful hard-hitting main event contest that saw 'The Walking Weapon' spiked on the ring apron, while Jordynne Grace defeated Kimber Lee before being confronted via satellite by her Slammiversary challenger Deonna Purrazzo. Most importantly, a four-team tag match saw XXXL, Reno Scum, The Deaners, and TJP and Fallah Bahh have a completely different multi-team match compared to what we're used to from Impact.

Thumbs up all around for this show. Let's get to it, starting with the negative...
