8 Ups & 1 Down From Impact Wrestling (Jun 16)
Ups...
8. Change Of Scenery
Reno Scum vs. XXXL. Two big lads vs. two bigger lads. As expected, it was a bit of a slog to get through at times - after all, there's only so much you can really do with Acey Romero and Larry D. However, one positive to take away from this was the slight changes from both parties.
While Romero and Larry used their frames to their advantage, as they typically do, we also saw them utilise some 'proper' wrestling moves. A double STO and a sidewalk slam were two notable examples of them putting their strength to use as opposed to solely their exteriors. As for Adam Thornstowe and Luster The Legend, they too were the same for the most part, clubbing away on their opponents. At the climax of the match though, Luster dove through the ropes onto Acey Romero, leaving Thornstowe to pin Larry D after their tag finish.
Obviously, these are extremely minor changes to the teams' arsenals. When you've seen the same thing for a good chunk of time though, you need to see something different to keep them fresh. No-one likes stale bread - the same can be said for stale wrestling.
