8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dark (Nov 19)

3. Best Friends Topple Private Party

Marq Quen Trent
AEW/Lee South

Best Friends vs. Private Party was a by-the-numbers tag that went exactly how you'd expect it to go, with Chuck Taylor and Trent grinding Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy down to prevent the propulsive duo from taking to the skies. That doesn't mean it was mediocre, though. Yes, they worked to a formula, but it was refreshing to see Private Party doing something other than their usual spot-heavy layout, and both teams are good enough to fart out a ***-***1/2 match in their sleep anyway.

That Private Party took the loss is interesting, given that they're facing Proud N Powerful on Dynamite. That's AEW, though. They're trying to rewire the way we think about pro-wrestling booking, so it'd be beneficial to see what transpires tonight before jerking the knee. Besides, Best Friends need a win.

Shouts to Kassidy's music taste, as well. Those Stankonia socks were sick.
