8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (18 Oct)

6. Jericho & Castle Peacock & Throw Bombs

Jake Hager Chris Jericho

Dalton Castle and Chris Jericho's ROH Title fight was a boatload of fun, drawing as much on the challenger's expressive character as hard knocks and big bombs.

Living up to his nickname, Castle peacocked around the ring early on, leading The Boys around the squared circle after some early exploratory exchanges. Back inside, he threw Jericho around like an empty bottle. Slams and drops led to a gutwrench showboating spot while The Boys cheerled from the outside. When Jake Hager tried to interject, he hulked up only when The Boys messed with his purple hat, continuing his recent comedic tilt.

Castle pushed towards what would have been a believable win with German suplexes and the Bangarang. Ultimately, the Judas Effect felled him after an entertaining, dramatic fight.

Afterwards, Jericho claimed to have successfully desecrated ROH's legacy, titles, champions, and ring announcer. His attempt at going after its commentators were thwarted when Jerry Lynn saved Ian Riccaboni from an assault on the stage, however, with the ECW icon (and former ROH Champion) eating a Tombstone Piledriver onto the belt for his troubles.

Is... AEW teasing Chris Jericho vs. Jerry Lynn?!

2022 wrestling is wild.
