8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (18 Oct)

4. Before The Accident...

Jon Moxley Hangman Page
AEW

While Jon Moxley vs. 'Hangman' Adam Page will be remembered for its unfortunate conclusion, the action preceding this was great, suggesting the duo were on the verge of crafting an awesome main event before the accident.

Page fired up immediately by confronting Moxley on the floor during his entrance. Mox ended up busted open before the bout had officially begun, with the duo brawling around ringside. From there, Hangman went after the wound, egged on by Moxley, who was on the backfoot and made to claw his way back into it. The AEW World Champion was his usual defiant, resistant self, initially mounting fleeting comebacks before getting knocked down, though his willingness to get dirty helped level the playing field.

Moxley bit Hangman's forehead and called at his back. He ate a Dead Eye on the apron and survived, kicking out of a top rope Fallaway Slam. Seconds later, as the match was heating up, Hanger was concussed by the King Kong Lariat gone wrong.

Again, get well soon, Hangman. His and Moxley's efforts pre-injury deserve acknowledgement, though, and they will hopefully be able to run this back before long.
