8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (30 June)

Downs...

2. Matt Something

Andrade el Idolo
AEW

Andrade El Idolo followed up on last week's Matt Sydal interruption by challenging the veteran to a match next week, doing so in a half-English, half-Spanish promo. A solid idea: that match will pop.

Pretending not to know Sydal's name was weak, though. It's cheap, low-hanging fruit heat, the likes of which is more likely to provoke eye-rolls than jeers, and after a lukewarm introduction to life on TNT, Andrade could have done with something sharper here. A real putdown, not something Reddit user u/fiendblisskanemask205403 would use with five crylaugh emojis.

A ripper of a match with Sydal will restore any goodwill lost. This is the silver lining, and it helps that Andrade is a modern great and his opponent has shone brighter than most American wrestlers this year. Still, this was petty.
