8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (30 June)

Ups...

8. Jack Traps Jack

Jungle Boy Jack Evans
AEW

Jungle Boy recovered from last week's loss to Kenny Omega, defeating Hardy Family Office member Jack Evans in a match that started with methodical exchanges of holds before coming out of the picture in picture break. The Jurassic Express man blasted back and took the match through the gearbox, eventually flipping out of a spider German Suplex spectacularly before locking Evans in the Snare Trap.

The recent Christian Cage/Jurassic Express association gave this some narrative heft. Cage had another backstage segment with Jungle Boy here, in which he may or may not have gaslighted the 24-year-old through "encouragement" ahead of a potential turn. Cage is also feuding with Matt Hardy. Here, Matt sent one of his HFO goons out to hurt Jungle Boy for sticking his nose in family business and becoming his enemy's friend.

A post-match brawl that saw Cage choke Hardy out with his jacket didn't sound well-received by the crowd, which is a concern as their singles feud continues. Still, this was a good week for Jungle Boy.
