8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (8 Dec)

Ups...

8. Good, Fun TV Wrestling

Matt Lee
AEW

A simple match but an effective one, Jurassic Express and the Varsity Blonds thwarted 2point0 and The Acclaimed when Eddie Kingston hit the ring, only intervening when Daniel Garcia became a factor on the outside. King putting Garcia into the steps allowed Jungle Boy to work Max Caster back into the Snare Trap and score the submission.

Caster's pre-match rap took pops at Jungle Boy's promos and Andrew Cuomo. He and the rest of the heel group were a lot of fun. 2point0, in particular, are tremendous stooges. They're so good at getting their *sses kicked and making you want to see them get their *sses kicked that they're quietly amongst AEW's most effective TV performers, and here, as Matt Lee bossed Brian Pillman Jr. and Jeff Parker screamed in his face while he was getting beaten down in the corner, they were on form.

BPJ took most of the heat before the inevitable Luchasaurus hot tag, with the big man beefing all four opponents at once. Chokeslamming one Acclaimed member onto another was a highlight for the big man, who remains great in these bursts.
