8 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (June 5)

1. Big Guy Blues

Big Cass

This column has been kind to Big Cass since his return, but his act is toilet. The seven-footer's promo delivery has improved, and he isn't as awful between the ropes as his biggest detractors would have you believe, but his entire character is based around being tall. That's it. There's nothing else.

Last night saw him conduct a stinker of an interview with Renee Young, the basis of which was "Daniel Bryan little, me big - therefore, me better." He called DB's Backlash victory a fluke, saying that while he packs a punch for a wee fella, "a good big man will always beat a good little man." After mentioning their pay-per-view match, this makes Cass SmackDown's king of the self-own.

He chastised Bryan for not being there, told Renee that the former General Manager had never been in the ring with a man like him (another objective falsehood), then promised to embarrass Daniel at Money In The Bank, after which he'll have no choice but to take his ball, go home, and "play a garden gnome on Total Bellas."

Tired, lame, and generic, this promo was the pits, but at least we got the pleasure of Bryan ethering Cass after the show.
