8 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (June 5)

Ups...

8. Cara Vs. Almas Heats Up

While the Sin Cara/Andrade Almas "we used to be like brothers" angle feels forced, this week's interview-turned-ambush was another effective segment to push the warring midcard duo towards their eventual in-ring showdown, which must surely come next week.

WWE's most dangerous backstage shooter was talking to Dasha Fuentes somewhere in the building. He put his old relationship with Almas over, before Zelina Vega showed up, told Cara that he made Andrade look weak, and in came the former NXT Champion. 'Cien' beat the tar out of the masked man, screamed at him in Spanish, then left him to the referees.

Nothing mind-blowing here, but it was totally effective. They'll likely have a good match, and Almas' inevitable victory should springboard him to something greater, unless WWE decide to needlessly extend the Cara feud for another arc.
