8 Ups & 2 Downs From NXT Stand & Deliver 2022

1. Fairytale Ending (Or Not)

The dude writing this can't really blame Tommaso Ciampa for trying to be a little epic with what is supposedly his NXT swansong. However, did he really need to let Tony D'Angelo kick out of his Fairytale Ending finisher on the second match of the card (third if you count the Kickoff)?

That felt like a mistake.

It was also a tad excessive to see "epic" false finishes that early in the show. Sadly, the actual ending of the match fell flat with fans too. D'Angelo gently kicked Ciampa in the head to ground him, then covered for the 1...2..3. People in Dallas were not expecting things to end that way.

If this is Tommaso's final showing on the third brand, then it was a slightly lacklustre one. The match wasn't exactly awful, but it never came across as a worthy closing chapter for somebody so important to the brand's legacy.
