8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (11 Aug)
1. A Frustrating Tag Title Match
Evil Uno and Stu Grayson vs. The Good Brothers was a frustrating match in that it felt like the Dark Order side's high-effort performance struggled against Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson's more methodical approach.
Grayson started the match by diving on the heels. He and Uno were fast, dynamic, and energising, running through their signature spots for the match's biggest peaks. They came to life at the right times and were as kinetic as ever. It's unfortunate, then, that they were eaten alive by the heels' control periods. Rather than working effectively to wear the babyfaces down and generate anticipation for the comeback, these spells felt like they were sucking the life out of the show.
This IMPACT Tag Team Title suffered further from the night's second-worst finish, as Gallows sliding one of the belts in the ring distracted Brian Hebner and enabled the double-team and ill-gotten pin on Grayson. The heel work prior to it wasn't satisfying enough and didn't generate enough heat for this to work.
