8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (16 Oct)

7. The Importance Of Minutes

Penelope Ford Kiera Hogan

Was Kiera Hogan vs. Penelope Ford a must-see match? No, it was where it was on the card to let people settle down a little after the six-man and before the main event. Does that mean it missed its mark? No, not at all. If anything, it was decent and showed that the women's division is deep enough for this TBS Title to succeed.

It was a cracking example of how minutes matter.

AEW gave these ladies approx 7 minutes to work with here. To illustrate the whole "minutes matter" point, they made the most of them. Although definitely rough around the edges, this match was vital in helping ford and Hogan bed in with the All Elite audience, and they did a neat job of luring Miami's hardcores in by the end.

Kiera's superplex spot was killer, and Penelope looked strong by picking up a valuable, experience-boosting win. Honestly, this match will work wonders for both in the long run, and AEW programming needs more like it so these talents continue to grow and grow.

Being associated with somebody like Ruby Soho is a show of faith for Ford too.
