8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (16 Oct)

6. A Surprise Title Change

FTR AAA Tag-Team Titles
AEW

Anything that conjures up images of Edge and Christian posing as Los Conquistadores should be welcomed with a smile. That's what this froggy business from FTR was surely supposed to pay tribute to, and it worked. All Elite's bookers did well to tie in Andrade El Idolo and The Pinnacle as well.

El Idolo hired FTR from MJF for the night to stick it to Lucha Bros.

OK, so it would've been nice had the masked men retained some mystery until winning the AAA Tag straps, but that's a mild moan. Penta and Rey Fenix whipped off the hoods mid-bout, then lost anyway because Tully Blanchard caused the distraction for Aubrey Edwards. Simple, solid storytelling there.

This got the job done despite it being obvious that FTR and Lucha Bros are capable of better. They might even get a redo at Full Gear. Start getting excited if they do, 'cause there's chemistry there, and the thought of Cash Wheeler bumping around for a flying Fenix is enough to make one drool.
