8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (6 July)

All Elite Wrestling felt like an ascendant product heading into last night's Dynamite, with the critically revered Forbidden Door pay-per-view and the imperfectly great Blood & Guts special restoring at least some of the faith lost during the often cluttered months prior.

A show of the same calibre would have been optimal. We didn't quite get that, with at least one persistent bad habit rearing its head again after a few weeks off, but this was still a fine table-setting Dynamite. While not necessarily crammed with huge, popping moments (aside from the obvious...), these 120 minutes were full of necessary advancement, though they were lacking in cutting-edge action.

Jon Moxley defended his Interim World Championship against Brody King, winner of AEW's inaugural Royal Rumble. Wardlow, meanwhile, challenged for Scorpio Sky's TNT Championship once more, this time without the looming threat of MJF's interference, while Thunder Rosa and Toni Storm came together as Thunderstorm for a match with common enemies Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose.

These were the biggest items on the billing heading into the show. How did they do?

Let's light the fuse...
