8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Feb 17)

Omega & Moxley bring death to AEW, Riho returns, and Santana & Ortiz challenge The Young Bucks.

These are wild, wild times in All Elite Wrestling.

Over the course of a four-day period in March, the promotion will present a match featuring NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, 67-year-old Tully Blanchard coming out of retirement to face Jurassic Express, 61-year-old Sting wrestling for the first time since seriously injuring his neck in 2015, and an exploding barbed wire deathmatch. If nothing else, Tony Khan's pencil is giving us plenty to talk about.

Dynamite remains an uneven viewing experience, which is perhaps a consequence of all this. Last night's highs were excellent, and the show was a step forward from recent offerings on the whole, but a handful of increasingly familiar complaints remain. That one of them emanates from the very top of the card is troubling.

Nonetheless, this was a good show. We got major announcements for Revolution 2021 involving Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, and more. Mox teamed with Rey Fenix and Lance Archer to face Eddie Kingston and The Butcher and The Blade, Riho returned for the first time in almost a year, and The Young Bucks put up their World Tag Team Titles against Santana and Ortiz.

Let's light the fuse...
