8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Nov 18)

2. Las Vegas Slays The Inner Circle

The two-part Inner Circle Slay Las Vegas segment was fun, well-performed, and a loving tribute to the Hangover trilogy, with spots like Konnan's suspiciously smoky limousine, the diaper-clad Hornswoggle, and Jake Hager and Wardlow taking it in turns to smack innocent bystanders in the mouth bringing the laughs.

It played on existing character dynamics and closed with Jericho promising that The Inner Circle would return to beating people up next week. A relief, as the group's increasingly comedic tone has harmed them since 'Le Champion' dropped the AEW World Title.

The Inner Circle Slay Las Vegas finishes as a Down because it didn't push anything forward. A good time was had by all, sure, but this was superfluous content. This photograph uploaded to Jericho's Instagram page told the exact same story, with some personalities looking a lot happier than others, but took a lot less time to process and digest.

It's a shame, as these are some of the most charismatic personalities in American wrestling, but the segments needed significant storyline or character development to provide heft.
