8 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Dec 15)

4. Never Trust A Finesser

If we've learned anything from Chris Bey during his time spent in Impact Wrestling thus far, it's that he's not to be trusted. Rohit Raju learned this the hard way, as 'The Desi Hitman' agreed to aid Bey in his non-title clash with Manik. Why? Because 'The Ultimate Finesser' had promised to have the new X Division Champion unmasked, revealing his true identity as TJP - reminder, TJP was banned from challenging for the title as long as Rohit was champion.

Spoiler alert: no unmasking occurred.

What we got instead was Chris Bey pulling one over on Raju, as he tricked the now-former X Division Champion into assaulting him, leading to a disqualification win for Bey. Technically speaking, Bey now holds a win over the current champion, perhaps entitling him to a future championship contest. The match itself was decent, with both men digging deep into their arsenals - Bey's diving elbow drop to a rope-hung Manik was a particular highlight here. They just gel well together.

It wasn't anything too fancy, but there was no need for it to be. You know Chris Bey and Manik will deliver a solid match, and it advanced the story between Manik and Rohit Raju, who are set to clash again at Hard To Kill. Should Chris Bey be added to that bout given the outcome here, it could easily steal the show, which says something considering that main event that was set.
