8 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jan 14)
Ups...
8. A Proud Partner
Willie Mack. What an unbelievable performer.
'Chocolate Thunder' moves around the ring like a guy half his size, busting out frog splashes and somersault dives like there's no tomorrow. He had to go against The North in a two on one situation at Hard To Kill following an injury to Rich Swann, and despite taking both Ethan Page and Josh Alexander to the absolute limit, Mack is still doubting his abilities.
After feeling as if he'd let Swann down, he got told exactly what he needed to be told. He took the 2019 Impact Tag Team of the Year to town all on his own. Even in defeat, there's a reason why he's one of the names to watch out for in Impact this year. It was a humbling moment between the comrades.
As Swann himself said, when his ankle is healed, they'll be going for the World Tag Team Championships as a cohesive unit. With the mindset they're currently in and the amount of motivation they possess, it's entirely possible we're looking at the next set of doubles champions in Impact Wrestling. That's saying something when you look at the depth of Impact's tag team division.
