8 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Sep 8)
1. Willie's Revenge... Or Not
An impromptu rematch between Willie Mack and Brian Myers resulted in 'The Most Professional Wrestler' gaining a second victory over 'Chocolate Thunder', and once again, it came via nefarious means. Was there even a point?
Mack joined Myers in the ring at his request, instead choosing to announce said rematch as opposed to shaking the former World Tag Team Champion's hand, going on to show a much more hard-hitting arsenal towards the artist formerly known as Curt Hawkins. That was the only real highlight of the match, as a low blow behind the referee's back was an ending far too similar to their original bout, regardless of if it was followed by a reasonably decent impaler DDT.
There was no point to this match. Had Willie Mack been victorious, then it would have been a fine bout. Having this sort of ending to both of their matches does nothing to help either of them. It makes Mack look senseless for failing to see these antics from Myers coming, and it renders Myers' professional persona pointless for continuously using these means of winning.
