8 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Nov 6)

1. Predictable Tag Team Brilliance

Put The Usos and New Day in the ring together and magic inevitably happens. Their 2017 feud was a brand highlight, and it felt like the two teams stole every pay-per-view they were booked on, particularly Hell In A Cell and SummerSlam (where their bout was heinously hidden on the Kickoff Show). It ended at the right time, but few would complain if it were to resurface in the next few months.

SmackDown's two most athletic duos were given the opportunity to reprise their story between the ropes last night, and it was predictably fantastic. The only real problem is that it was cannibalised by a screen-in-screen period and a commercial break. This production snafu prevents it from being considered a tag match of the year contender, though there were no clear flaws in the work itself.

Fast, fluid, and carried by palpable chemistry, it saw The Usos come away with the victory after pinning Kofi Kingston, earning the right to captain SmackDown's tag unit in the process. A show of respect saw him invite The New Day to the team afterwards, wrapping everything in a nice little bow.
