8 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (19 Aug - Results & Review)

7. A Hard-Hitting Struggle

WWE Raw Sheamus Pete Dunne
WWE

Sheamus facing Pete Dunne promised to be a very snug, physical match that featured a ton of stiff shots from beginning to finish, and it didn’t disappoint.

The two veterans delivered a pretty straightforward TV match, with both unloading on each other with strikes, knees, backbreakers, powerbomb, and slams. Aside from Dunne’s small joint manipulation on Sheamus’ damaged hand, the two didn’t rely on rest holds, using their time instead to just pummel each other.

Sheamus would pick up the win by escaping a Dunne ploy, trapping the Celtic Warrior’s hand in the turnbuckle. The former world champion ripped the pad off, delivered a desperation Brogue Kick and picked up the win. Although it was a clear win, it was far from dominant, suggesting that there could be more to come.

For that reason, it was good to see that they didn’t overstay their welcome here and just went at it for the duration of the match.
