8 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (20 Jan - Results & Review)

2. Too Little, Too Late?

For all the praise (rightly) lavished on WWE booking these days, it’s impossible to ignore the failure that is American Made.

A stable with the Creed Brothers, Chad Gable, and Ivy Nile should have been a sure thing, a can’t-miss group dead set on capturing all the gold. But here we are, six months after their formation, and American Made delivered a backstage interview Monday where they talked about their failings and how they were going to win titles.

Gable discussed his shortcomings with luchadores and revealed that he had consulted with Dominik Mysterio (an admittedly funny line). Ivy said she wanted the Women’s Intercontinental Championship (after being an afterthought and pinned in the first round of the tournament last month). And the Creeds bashed the War Raiders, despite the brothers not having a televised tag match since November.

If the group was making these pronouncements in September, just a few weeks after officially forming, no one would blink. But American Made have been at it for a half-year with nothing to show for themselves beyond a few gimmick/direction changes and a lot of Gable showing ass.

It’s beyond time for them to put up or shut up… or just disband the group as a noble failure.
