3. Drew’s Descent Continues

If it weren’t for how miserable and insufferable he is on the mic, one might actually feel bad for Drew McIntyre having his dreams dashed and his prizes and opportunities ripped away from him by CM Punk again.

Da Punker cost Drew the number one contender’s spot Monday night by interfering during the four-way match, grabbing McIntyre’s leg as he set up for a Claymore. The Scottish Warrior understandably lost it at the guy who cost him his newly won World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania Sunday night, then turned right around into a spear and splash combo from Jey Uso, who grabbed the title shot.

McIntyre was in a foul mood from the jump, verbally attacking everyone except Seth Rollins before the match (calling Damian Priest “bondage Undertaker”). Expect that angle to continue and for him to simmer until Punk recovers from injury and returns to action. That match should be excellent, providing that Punk can remain healthy.

The four-way match itself was really good overall, with the final few minutes really picking up the pace and the drama building to the finish. Ricochet did Ricochet things, hitting a springboard 450 splash to put Bronson Reed through the Spanish announce table, while McIntyre and Reed had a pretty good sequence earlier in the match.
