8 Ups & 4 Downs For AEW Collision (9 September)

Downs...

4. Way Too Competitive

AEW Collision Jon Moxley Action Andretti
AEW

Nobody in the history of AEW has been booked as strongly as Jon Moxley, with wins over the three-time AEW World Champion an extreme rarity. Mox has been presented as an utter beast during his time being #AllElite, and the Blackpool Combat Club stalwart is viewed as the toughest competitor in the promotion.

Action Andretti is certainly a promising talent with plenty of upside, but he's only won one televised AEW singles match this year. In fact, he's only won two such matches in his entire AEW career.

So, having Andretti go over 11 minutes with Jon Moxley in a match way more back-and-forth than it needed to be, just felt a bit daft. Of course, Moxley got the win, but this bout had several prolonged spells where Action had the better of the AEW International Champion - even putting the boots to Mox, ala Bryan Danielson.

If it only took Scorpio Sky seven minutes to put Action Andretti away, it really shouldn't be taking a vicious, visceral, violent former World Champion over 11 minutes to achieve that same goal.

Yes, it's good at times to allow a younger talent to shine during a match against a big star, but this bout was far too competitive.
