The usual gripe about AEW's female talent where it pertains to Collision - much like the rest of AEW programming - is that the ladies get approximately eight or nine-minutes of in-ring action, three of which plays out during a picture-in-picture commercial break.
Here, Collision broke the mould by not having its sole women's contest get the picture-in-picture treatment. That's great news, right? Not quite.
While there was no P-in-P ad break, Kris Statlander vs. Robyn Renegade was given just 4 minutes 20 seconds. Yes, on a two-hour broadcast, AEW gave its ladies roster less than five minutes of bell time. Even including the post-match return of Jade Cargill, the whole segment lasted barely six minutes.
It's tiring having to write about this same problem week to week, but it's something that has to be highlighted if AEW continue to gives its female talent such short shrift.
Also, while it was nice to see Jade back, one could question the decision to have her clearly set her sights on Statlander and the TBS Title she lost to Stat back at Double or Nothing in May. If Statlander beats Cargill again, that doesn't do much for the one-time alien, and it certainly wouldn't be good for Jade for her to score a second defeat already. As for the other option, if Cargill beats Statlander and takes back the TBS Championship, that just puts Jade back where she was, rather than explore possibilities higher up the card for That Bitch.
