8 Ups & 4 Downs For AEW Collision (9 September)

2. Totally Unnecessary

AEW Collision Juice Robinson Gunns
AEW

Did this week's AEW Collision really need Juice Robinson and the Gunns taking on Aero Star, Dios Del Inframundo, and Gravity? Likely not.

This match was at least brief - clocking in at approximately eight minutes - but the bout was just 'there'. For the crowd at Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, they didn't care one bit about this match, and they barely responded to any spots, regardless of some of the impressive athleticism on display.

But really, why should that crowd have been expected to care about this trio of luchadors? After all, this was Inframudno's AEW debut, Aero Star had competed once for the promotion back in 2021, and Gravity's four previous, winless outings have conditioned audiences to view him as a total loser. And in its eight minutes, this contest attempted to cram in way, way too much in terms of moves and counters.

Juice Robinson continues to be a magnetic presence, and the Gunns are always entertaining, but this match just felt so unnecessary, especially when that time could've been spent better elsewhere.
