8 Ups & 4 Downs For AEW Collision (May 18 - Results & Review)
2. The Ladies Deliver
Despite the previous complaint about the wider use and presentation of the AEW women's division on Collision, the two ladies who did get to step between the ropes certainly delivered.
Serena Deeb vs. Anna Jay was a great outing for both competitors, with Deeb showing off the technical skills that make her one of the best in the world, and Jay doing a great job in hanging with the Professor. As with the rest of the card, the result was never in doubt, but it was just a whole bunch of fun to watch Serena constantly trying to tie Anna up in knots.
This was Serena Deeb at her laser-focussed best, constantly looking at ways to inflict damage on Anna Jay's leg. That said, there was a really nice Queenslayer out of nowhere from Anna, although that was ultimately for naught as Deeb got the submission win with her Serenity Lock.
Prior to the finish, Luther came out and stole Serena's flag, with Mariah May and Toni Storm coming out after the bell as Timeless Toni threw off her clothes and wore Deeb's flag.
