8 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (May 13)

4. Fairytale Thwarted

Lee Johnson has stood out as one of the more effective enhancement talents used in AEW's Empty Arena, though he was utterly humiliated by a gloriously c*nty MJF last night.

'The Salt of the Earth' was a piece of trash here. He roughed Johnson up right away, deckin him early, then mocked the guy with trash talk, sarcastic chants, and tremendous facial expressions. He's an awful, despicable bully who took punching down to a new level by standing on Johnson's throat and slapping a comeback away, completely controlling from start to finish before taking the submission victory, adding another W to the column.

A strong promo followed, as AEW's most obnoxious personality feigned excitement for his clash with Jungle Boy at Double Or Nothing, claiming he'd asked for a tune-up against Marko Stunt next week. "Get ready, we're going to have a lot of fun," he said, having Wardlow slide the Dynamite Diamond Ring onto his pinkie finger mid-catchphrase, having reasserted himself as a total scumbag.
