8 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (May 13)

Ups...

8. Pineapple Pete Speaks

Pineapple Pete Suge D
AEW

Credit to AEW for giving Suge D a brief promo ahead of last night's clash with Chris Jericho. Few could have seen the indie journeyman catching the eye to this extent in the Empty Arena Era. Yes, it was Jericho's commentary that brought him into the spotlight in the first place, though bits like this show Suge is capable of running with it.

Simple, effective stuff here. Suge ran through his 16-year grind to this kind of spot then said that while being christened "Pineapple Pete" insulted him at first, life has been pretty sweet even since. Jericho may roll with an Inner Circle, but Pete throws hands, not shapes, as 'Le Champion' would find out later one.

Suge D is a fun guy with a big personality. AEW should look at keeping him around once this all blows over, even in this enhancement role.
