8 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2022

1. The Main Event’s Story

Bron Breakker previously lost his NXT Title without being pinned during another Triple Threat match. At Roadblock in March, Dolph Ziggler covered Tommaso Ciampa to take the strap. Vic Joseph pointed that out right before the bell sounded for Havoc's main event.

This storytelling made it clear that Bron was exorcising a demon by winning one of these three-ways, and the match was better for it. There was so much talent in that ring - Ilja Dragunov's energy is hard to top, JD McDonagh is an ace annoying heel and Breakker is a smash mouth throwback to the days of Rick and Scott Steiner.

A false finish that saw JD grab the ref's hand during Ilja's pin on Bron was tremendous stuff, and so was Breakker rallying back to score the win and redeem past losses. Some (including this guy) might've preferred a singles between Bron and Dragunov, but it was a top, top match generally.

Go out of your way to see it.
